REGISTRATION:

Do you have to be an experienced triathlete to participate?
Absolutely not! This race is great for the first time triathlete who wants the experience and for the competitive triathlete who wants a tune-up before a larger event. Water stops will be provided along the route for you to stop and catch your breath if needed. You can choose to participate as an individual or on a 2-person or 3-person relay team.

What are the entry fees?

  • Individual Entry:
$45 until 7/23/2017

$55 from 7/24/2017 to 8/19/2017

$55 Onsite (if available)

  • Relay Entry:

$90 - 2-person entry until 7/23/2017

$135 - 3-person entry until 7/23/2017

$110 - 2-person entry from 7/23/2017 to 8/19/2017

$165 - 3-person entry from 7/23/2017 to 8/19/2017



Is there a price difference for participating on a relay team?
No, the price is the same.


Is there a waiting list for the event?
Yes, we would be happy to include you on the waiting list if the event sells out. You must call our office (337.984.1920) and request placement on the waiting list. If a spot becomes available up to one day before the event, we will contact you.


When and where is packet pick-up?
Participants can pick up packets from 12-6pm on Friday, August 18th outside UL's Bourgeois Hall, which is located at 225 Cajundome Blvd. 

Packets will be available on race day, but we strongly encourage all participants to pick up the day before. (T-shirt sizes are first come first serve.)


Will all relay team members receive a t-shirt?
Yes, all relay team members will receive a t-shirt.


Can I pick up my packet the morning of the race?
Yes, you can though we encourage you to pick up the day before.


Can I pick up a packet for a friend?
Yes, you may pick up for a friend.


How will I make sure I get the correct t-shirt size?
T-shirts are first come first served, so we cant guarantee your size availability.


COURSE:

What are the course details?

  • 200-yard swim (UL Bourgeois pool)
  • 8-mile bike(2 loops along Cajundome Blvd)
  • 2-mile run(1 lap along Cajundome Blvd)


Where does the event take place?
The event takes place at ULs Bourgeois Hall located at 225 Cajundome Blvd across from the Cajundome. 

The 200-yard swim takes place in an 8-lane lap pool. The 8-mile bike and 2-mile run are both on Cajundome Blvd.


Where can I find the course maps?
You can find the course map on our website and you can find the map at Packet Pick-up.


What are the single and double bike loop options?
Due to participant request, we are now offering a single and double bike loop option during registration.

  • Single loop 4 miles NOT eligible for awards
  • Double loop 8 miles eligible for awards


Are bike helmets required?
Yes, bike helmets are required.


MISC DETAILS:

Where do I park?
You may park in any available spot at Cajun Field which is accessible via Congress, Bertrand or Cajundome Blvd. Participants are to park vehicles and walk bikes to transition. Dropping off in front of Cajundome Blvd is prohibited. Please note that Cajundome Blvd is closed from 6:30am 10:00am


What time do the roads close?

The following intersections will be blocked at 6:30am. (Times are subject to change per police)

  • Souvenir Gate at Coliseum Rd.
  • W. Congress St. at St. Mary Blvd.
  • W. Congress at Bertand
  • Cajundome Blvd. at W. Congress St.
  • Cajundome Blvd. at Johnston St.
  • Cajundome Blvd. at Reinhardt
  • Cajundome Blvd. at Bertrand
  • Cajundome Blvd. at Devalcourt
  • Cajundome Blvd. at Eraste Landry
  • Eraste Landry at Robert Lee Circle
  • Eraste Landry at Macon


What is the timeline for the event?
5:00am
- Transition area opens (outside UL Bourgeois Hall)
6:30am Roads close
7:00am- Staggered swim start (UL Bourgeois Hall)
10:00am- Awards (outside UL Bourgeois Hall)
10:00am- Opening Ceremonies for Games of Acadiana (Cajundome)


What happens if it rains?
We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds; rather, your entry fee will be used as a donation to Miles Perret Cancer Services.


Is there a spot for my family and friends to watch?
Yes, family and friends are invited to observe and cheer for you. At the pool, all are invited to sit on the bleachers. For the bike and run portions, family and friends can watch in the grassy areas along Cajundome Blvd. Chairs are allowed, but tents are NOT allowed. 


What awards are given?
Awards are given immediately following the event in the following categories:

  • Master
  • Overall Male & Female
  • Top Male & Female for each age group


How do I volunteer for the Triathlon? 
We would love for you to volunteer for the Triathlon. If you are 16 years or older, please fill out the volunteer form on our website or contact our Volunteer Coordinator at 337.984.1920.


What do volunteers wear?
We provide yellow t-shirts which volunteer receive during "check-in at the Volunteer Tent. Please also wear shorts of your choice and comfortable shoes. We also recommend a hat and sunscreen.
