Pre-packaged Foods and Snacks

Eating pre-packaged foods and snacks can be convenient in our busy lives. However, ingredient labels can look more like a science experiment than actual food. The goal for this month is to avoid these heavily processed foods.

The American Institute of Cancer Research recommends to “maximize your consumption of cancer-fighting nutrients and phytochemicals while minimizing unhealthy additions to your diet.” Preservatives prolong shelf life, but do not prolong YOUR life.

  • Know what you are eating.
  • Be aware of ingredients.
  • Read nutrition labels.
  • Eat whole foods for better health.

How to Begin

No two people will travel the same journey during and after a cancer diagnosis. One common thread in all people affected by cancer is the need for a good support system.
