Our Programs
Smiles for Miles
Our SMILES for Miles program is all about creating joyful moments for families battling cancer. One Saturday each month, children 18 and under are invited to join their parents for a free family outing filled with laughter, play, and quality time together. From trips to the zoo and ice skating to exploring the children’s museum and creating art together, each outing is designed to give families a break from the challenges of cancer and provide the opportunity to make happy memories together – because every smile matters!
How to Join:
Each month, we send an email with details about the upcoming SMILES for Miles event, which is also posted on our client calendar. While we’d love for everyone to join, space is limited. To reserve your spot, simply reply to the email or give our office a call—we’ll take care of the rest! If you’re not yet on our SMILES for Miles email list, just let one of our Care Coordinators know, and we’ll be happy to add you so you never miss out on future events.

Creative Expressions Art Workshop
The Creative Expressions Art Workshop gives our clients a chance to have fun, get creative, and connect with others in our community. Each class features different arts and crafts projects—such as drawing, painting, scrapbooking, and more—allowing participants to explore their creativity, reflect on their experiences, and enjoy time with others who have been on a similar journey. Whether you’re a skilled artist or complete beginner, we hope this program inspires self-expression, laughter, and connection while creating memorable experiences together.
How to Join:
Each month, our client calendar will include the date and details for the upcoming Creative Expressions Art Workshop. As space is limited, we kindly ask that you RSVP to attend. To reserve your spot, just give our office a call – we’ll save your place and provide everything you need to know!
Our Programs
Back to School Program
Each August, Miles Perret partners with the Junior League of Lafayette to help our clients and families begin the school year with confidence and peace of mind. Through our Back to School program, we provide children—whether they are battling cancer themselves or have a parent or sibling facing cancer—with the school supplies they need for a successful year. By taking care of school supply shopping, we hope to lift a weight off families’ shoulders and allow them to focus on what matters most. This program ensures every student has the tools to feel supported, prepared, and ready to learn, grow, and thrive.
How to Join:
At the beginning of the summer, we send out forms for caregivers to complete and return along with each child’s school supply list. Once we receive the forms and supply lists, our team will take care of the shopping so you don’t have to worry about a thing. As summer gets closer, we’ll share important updates—including deadlines to participate and supply pick-up dates—so you’ll know exactly what to expect.
Our Programs
Christmas Giving Tree
The Giving Tree is an annual program that offers help to families during the Christmas season. The program is available to children and/or siblings (18 or younger living at home) of an active Miles Perret client. In our lobby, we have a Christmas tree decorated with ornaments, each featuring a child’s wish, age, and gender. Generous individuals, families, or community groups take one or more ornaments from our Giving Tree, shop for items, and return unwrapped gifts to our office. (All wishes/gifts should be within the $35 limit.)
How to Join:
For Clients
As the holiday season approaches, we’ll send out an email with a form for caregivers to complete and return to us. Once we receive your form, each child’s age, gender, and wish will be represented on an ornament—while their name is never shared. We’ll share important updates, including deadlines to participate and gift pick-up dates, so you can relax and enjoy a joyful holiday season!
For the Community
To take part, stop by our office and choose an ornament from the Giving Tree, letting our team know which wish you’ll be fulfilling. Purchase the requested items—one clothing item and one toy within a $35 limit—and return the unwrapped gifts to our office by the designated deadline. Our team will make sure every gift reaches the child in time for Christmas, helping spread holiday joy to families facing cancer.
